About GroundPound.ai
Guard-railed agent teams for operators everywhere.
Why this exists
I built GroundPound because the existing agent platforms weren't going to work for the operators I actually wanted to serve.
The trigger was OpenClaw. I tried it. The local-infrastructure requirement was a non-starter for anyone running a small business off a phone and a laptop. The lack of guardrails was worse. And the "agent gone rogue" horror stories I kept seeing — agents that fired client notices without authorization, sent the wrong invoices, executed trades nobody asked for, posted "we're sorry" tweets on behalf of a brand at 3am — convinced me a real product needed to exist.
The operator I wanted to serve is a small or medium business owner who isn't highly tech-savvy, doesn't want to learn "AI agents" as a third career, and absolutely cannot afford the cost of an agent doing something irreversible without asking first.
Whether you run a therapist's office, a lawn care company, a publishing house, a tax practice, a yoga studio, a veterinary clinic, or a hardware design firm, the pain is the same: too much to do, no team to do it, and zero patience for software that needs babysitting.
That's GroundPound.
What we built different
A rich, curated experience out of the box.A new operator picks an industry template and gets a coordinator plus 4–6 specialist agents pre-wired with the right skills, capabilities, plugins, and integrations for the work. No prompt engineering. No tool-list authoring. The wizard runs in plain English — describe your business in a sentence ("I run a 3-therapist practice", "I dispatch four lawn-care crews", "I edit a small literary quarterly") and 90 seconds later there's a working team.
LLM-agnostic and cost-aware by design. We support nine LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, Mistral, Together, Vertex AI Gemini, Azure OpenAI, and OpenRouter) and 33 model catalog entries across them. With token costs climbing fast, the platform's auto-tune routes each agent's work to the least-expensive model that does the job well. A coordinator doesn't need a frontier model; a bookkeeper does need a careful one. We decide per-agent, empirically, in production. The operator keeps the override.
Self-healing and AI-powered support, because nobody likes customer support. I have never enjoyed a single customer-support interaction in my life. So we built two things:
- A repair service that runs autonomously inside the platform — it scans for errors and configuration failures and quietly fixes what it can.
- The most capable in-app support widget we've ever shipped — it flags configuration issues, proposes ways to get more value out of the platform, and (with approval) makes the configuration changes itself.
The combined effect: most operators never need to email us. The ones who do get a real human reply, fast.
Who this is for
I want this platform to be usable by anyone who wants help running their work. A few of the operators we've designed for:
- The solo professional who just wants help keeping up with daily email and the calendar
- The therapist's office handling intake, insurance verification, scheduling, and recall outreach
- The lawn care company dispatching crews, sending invoices, and chasing estimates
- The publishing house tracking author deliverables, rights paperwork, and royalty statements
- The veterinary clinic handling appointment reminders, vaccine recalls, and prescription refills
- The boutique law firm tracking matter deadlines, intake, and trust-account billing
- The non-profit running donor stewardship, event logistics, and grant deadlines
- The independent CFO or bookkeeper closing books for eight clients in parallel
- The yoga or fitness studio juggling class schedules, member renewals, and instructor pay
- The wedding or event planner running 30 weddings across the season
- The vibe-coding shop turning customer feedback into shipped code
- The hardware design firm coordinating PCB revisions, BOM updates, and prototype runs
- The property management firm running rent collection, maintenance dispatch, and fair-housing-compliant tenant comms
- The research desk synthesizing sources, drafting briefs, and refusing to make up citations
Different operators, different routines, same platform. We ship 34 public industry and cross-functional templates today, and if yours isn't there, the wizard will build you a custom team in the same 90 seconds.
Who's behind it
GroundPound is built by SurfTurf.AI LLC founder Zack Rudman. We're a Wisconsin company building for operators everywhere who have more to do than people to do it.
